If
you are looking for the newest coneflower
introductions, then you've come to the
right place. These new
forms and colors are a far cry from the
traditional purple flowered echinaceas.
Some are tall, others will make you wonder
how such a small plant can produce such
a profusion of huge flowers. Come and
catch echie-mania here!
E. 'Gum Drop' and E.
'Heavenly Dream' are expected in early
spring 2010.
Check
out this new yellow coneflower:
Maui Sunshine
Stunning, well-branched and tall
with a yellow flower that resists
fading. Picture taken at Terra
Nova garden in July 2009.
Gaillardias Galore, if you aren't growing
these colorful and drought resistant plants,
you are missing out! The will thrive in
poor soil - the poorer, the better - and
on benign neglect. I just 'plopped' them
in the ground last spring, watered once
and promptly forgot them. All summer long
and through the first frosty mornings these
plants bloomed and bloomed. Don't care
for the gaudy orange and red? Check out
the newest cultivars: 'Oranges & Lemons',
'Summer Kiss', 'Burgundy' and the new fluted
forms: 'Fanfare', 'Frenzy' and 'El Fuego'.
Gaillardias are the BEST plants for hot
and dry locations, give them a spin this
year if you haven't already.
Check our shipping page for ship dates
to your area and check back as we are adding
and updating our webpages.
Sizes are listed
as 'starter-size', '4-inch pot', 'quart', etc.
The size refers to the size of the rootball and
is not an indication of the amount of top-growth.
Many perennials will be dormant during the winter
and ship with very little foliage in early spring.
Here's examples of our sizes. Picture was taken
in July and shows coneflowers. We do not ship plug
sizes.
We recycle and reuse plastic pots, most of our
plants will ship in a plantable paper sleeve made
from biodegradable newsprint.
