Black Salsify - Scorzonera hispanica
Hoffmanns Schwarze Pfahl
This little-known root is truly one of the worlds
great vegetables. Its flavor is unique, sometimes
referred to as 'poor man's asparagus', the texture
and taste are similar.
Flowers in summer, plants will flop and require
staking if grown in partial shade. Seeds are
borne in a globe like that of a dandelion.
Seeds are harvested from our plants - note:
seeds are for yellow-flowered, black-rooted scorzonera
hispanica, not for purple-flowered, white-rooted
tragopogon porrifolius!

Money plant or Lunaria makes an bold statement

Rose - Helleborus
Hellebore are evergreen with attractive clumps
of leathery, dark foliage. They provide year
round interest and can bloom anytime from December
to April, depending on conditions. Their lantern-like
