Lenten Rose - Helleborus

Hellebore are evergreen with attractive clumps of leathery, dark foliage. They provide year round interest and can bloom anytime from December to April, depending on conditions. Their lantern-like flowers come in beautiful shades of white, green, dusky pink and purple.

Edible Black Salsify - Scorzonera hispanica
Hoffmanns Schwarze Pfahl

This little-known root is truly one of the worlds great vegetables. Its flavor is unique, sometimes referred to as 'poor man's asparagus', the texture and taste are similar.
Flowers in summer, plants will flop and require staking if grown in partial shade. Seeds are borne in a globe like that of a dandelion.

Carolina Jasmine - Gelsemium Sempervirens
Evergreen vine with very fragrant flowers that appear in late winter or early spring. Glossy rich green leaves are about 2-4" long by 1/2" wide and grow in opposite pairs along wiry stems. The vine will grow 10-20 feet tall, and is used to quickly cover arbors, tree trunks, trellises, fences or other supports.

Lunaria - Money Plant - Honesty
Money plant or Lunaria makes an bold statement in the front of the perennial garden. It is most often grown for its coin shaped, papery seed heads that resemble small moons.

Big, bold, and brassy, Hollyhocks seem to revel in being the life of the party, and there's nothing wrong with that.
These old-fashioned Hollyhocks have single flowers and higher resistance to diseases, such as Hollyhock rust and wilt.

English Wallflower - Erysimum cheiri "Sunset Mix'
Wallflower is a compact, fragrant, old-fashioned plant that is very easy to grow. Flower colors range from pale yellow to dark red; individual flowers can be constant in colour, especially the velvety darker hues, or can contain almost indefinable blends and veining that change as they age.
